Overview Of The Spain Digital Nomad Programme
The Spain Digital Nomad Visa, known as the Visado de Trabajar a Distancia, allows individuals to secure a residence permit in Spain. This visa is designed for remote workers, including employees of foreign companies, freelancers, and self-employed professionals. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum monthly income of €2,646 while working remotely
Requirements
It is exclusively available to citizens from outside the European Union
Only citizens from non-EU and non-EEA countries are eligible to apply.
Digital nomads can initially obtain a residence permit in Spain valid for three years,
with the option to extend it for an additional two years.
After residing in Spain for five years, they become eligible to apply for permanent
residency. Another five years of continuous residence may qualify them to apply for
Spanish citizenship and a passport.
The requirements for the Digital Nomad Visa are governed by Law No. 28/2022.
Eligibility Requirements for the Main Applicant
Must be over 18 years of age.
Must be a non-EU or non-EEA citizen
With remote work and an income of at least €2,646 per month
With residential property in Spain — rented or purchased
Without criminal records
With a higher education degree or 3 years of work experience
Spouse:Officially registered marriage with the main applicant.
Children and Siblings
below the age of 18 qualify to be included, for those above the 18 they should be studying
at a university financially dependent on the main applicant and not married.
Parents should be above the age of 55 years and provide proof that they are financially
dependent on the main applicant.
