Overview of the Portugal Digital Nomad Program.

The Portugal Digital Nomad Visa is granted to foreign nationals who work remotely. This includes freelancers, employees of international companies outside of Portugal, self-employed individuals, and independent entrepreneurs, all of whom may be eligible to apply. .

Requirements

Only non-EU and non EEA citizens are eligible to apply.
To qualify for this program applicants should earn at least €3,280 per month.
Initially, applicants will be given a residence permit with a validity period of at least 2 years subject for renewal.
Applicants are required to reside in the country to maintain and renew their residence status.
After 5 years of continuous residence, it may be possible to apply for permanent residency.

5. Qualify to apply for Portuguese nationality.

After 5 years Digital Nomads will be eligible to apply for citizenship through naturalization after 5 years of living in the country. They will be required to take a language proficiency test and pass with level A2. Applicants above the age of 60 may be exempted from taking the language test.

6. Possibility of obtaining a strong passport

Portuguese passport allows you to travel to 131 countries visa free, 46 countries visa on travel and only 21 countries require a visa to visit.
